MSC teachers work in conjunction with Mathematics in the City [MitC] to develop the school’s math curriculum. MitC was developed in 1995 between City College and the Freudenthal Institute to help foster a deep conceptual understanding of mathematical ideas, strategies and models. Our teachers also work with the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project, a research and staff development organization housed at Teachers College, Columbia University. This collaboration helps develop ideas that are fundamental to literacy instruction.
